Finn is an anglicised spelling of Fionn. I know Fionns who say Fyun and Fionns who say Fin. I've had friends text me baby announcements with the name, but I don't know which pronunciation they've chosen until I hear it! The best-known Fionn is Fionn mac Cumhaill, the warrior hero of Irish legend. Fionn is itself an Irish word meaning fair, white or bright.
